Jodhpur City
Jodhpur (जोधपुर), is the second largest city in the state of Rajasthan. It was formerly the seat of a princely state of the same name, also known as Marwar or the Blue City, due to the indigo tinge of the whitewashed houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. The blue houses were originally for Brahmins but non-Brahmins soon joined in, as the colour was said to deflect the heat and keep mosquitoes away.

Bhopāl (Hindi: भोपाल), the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is the second largest city in Madhya Pradesh after Indore, with a poulation of about 1,7 million. It is called the City of Lakes, the Upper and Lower Lakes of Bhopal are also known as Bhoj Wetlands. A major eco-conservation project has been undertaken by the Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO) to conserve and protect the lakes.

The city attracted international attention as a consequence of the Bhopal disaster, when the Union Carbide plant leaked deadly methyl isocyanate gas during the night of December 3, 1984. The poisonous gas killed thousands of people in the city and its neighbouring areas, and thousands of others still suffer from its effects even two decades later. Since then, Bhopal has been a center of protests and campaigns which have been joined by many people across the globe.

On 11 April 2005, the Indian Space Research Organisation established a Master Control Facility in Ayodhya Nagar, to control the movements of satellites. It is the second of its kind in the country (the first being at Hassan near Bangalore). Bhopal is one of the six cities chosen to have an All India Institute of Medical Sciences Campus apart from Delhi.
